Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification
The Advanced Certification Institute provides access to standards of care professionally recognized by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) and the American Heart Association (AHA) for the treatment of cardiac and respiratory arrest. A series of online classes guide students and medical professionals seeking initial certification or recertification through a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic case scenarios. Once they have completed the ACLS course, participants will receive a certification that can also be verified online independently by employers and administrators. Continuing Education credits are included and are accredited by the AMA, ADA, and ANCC.
The primary goal of Advanced Cardiac Life support is recognizing life-threatening cardiac emergencies and providing prompt assessment and treatment during the initial minutes of the emergency. Prior to beginning the ACLS course, students should have a working knowledge of basic life support (BLS/CPR) and basic ECG rhythm identification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support begins with the basics of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and continues to cover more advanced treatment options for the victim of cardiac arrest. The ACLS course also focuses on the conditions that lead to cardiac arrest, such as respiratory arrest, bradycardia, tachycardia, and acute coronary syndrome.
The Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification encompasses the following topics and is consistent with the most recent ECC/ILCOR Consensus and American Heart Association guidelines:
- Adult ACLS Assessment
- Cardiac Arrest and Stroke
- Respiratory Arrest
- ACLS Scenarios/ACLS Pharmacology
- Immediate Post-Arrest Care
- V-Tach, V-Fib, Asystole. PEA
- Bradyarrhythmias
- Tachyarrhythmias
- High Quality CPR
- EKG Arrhythmia Recognition
- Team Member Dynamics
ACLS certification requires knowledge of advanced treatment algorithms, but these advanced interventions are secondary to early CPR and early defibrillation. Community outreach programs and facility-specific response strategies also help reduce CPR and defibrillation response times by increasing the number of willing trained rescuers and improving access to AEDs.
Early recognition, early CPR, and early defibrillation are all needed to ensure survival. The Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification course provides information for advanced interventions such as advanced airway management, vascular access, and medication administration. ACLS also provides treatment options for effective post-arrest care.
All participants can register online. The Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification online is $129, and only $109 for recertification. The course material comes with a study guide and includes all of the material needed for the course. The test can be taken over until a passing grade is achieved. We utilize an unique testing format based on learning theory which maximizes learning and retention and results in a 98% first-time pass rate. After passing the test participants can download and print a certification card that acknowledges the individual’s successful completion of the course. In addition we offer a valuable FREE course in First Aid & CPR/AED as we feel basic CPR is a skill everyone should possess.
Obtaining your ACLS certification/recertification online is a viable option for many medical professionals. In addition to convenience, the online option offers value, flexibility and an efficient alternative to the traditional classroom experience.
During our current promotion we are offering the BLS course Free with both the ACLS and PALS courses.
